Luther Emmett Holt was a pioneer in the field of pediatrics.  He wrote the pre-eminent guide to child care, “The Care and Feeding of Children: A Catechism for the Use of Mothers and Children’s Nurses.”  A charter member of the American Pediatric Society, he made New York’s Baby Hospital the leading pediatric hospital of the time.  He is credited with creating the medical chart, and he promoted the use of baby cages to ensure that city babies  got enough fresh air.  These metal cages attached to apartment window sills, and held the baby suspended outside for fresh air and sunlight.  Not sure that would hold up to today’s safety standards.

This pup stands 9” tall. He is constructed of recycled wool and denim and wears cashmere and wool suiting.
