Virginia Hall, known as the “limping lady” to the Nazis, is the most highly decorated civilian and touted as the most important American spy in WWII.  All this despite initially being shut out due to her gender and her disability.  Virginia lost her leg to a hunting accident and used a wooden prosthetic leg that she named “Cuthbert.”  In France, she took advantage of the Nazi chauvinism that overlooked the threat posed by a disabled woman.  She formed relationships with nuns and brothel owners to gather information. At her peak, she managed a network of over 1500 people which included her future husband.

Virginia is 12” tall. She is constructed of cashmere wool and stuffed with recycled denim. She wears a cashmere sweater and vintage handkerchief skirt.
